Allseating Accepts Healthier Hospitals Safer Chemicals Challenge 2.0

To recognize the important role furniture plays in creating environments that inspire healing, Allseating has accepted the Healthier Hospitals Safer Chemicals Challenge 2.0. Healthier Hospitals (HH) makes it easier for hospitals to select furniture and materials that meet the Healthy Interiors goal of the Safer Chemicals Challenge.

HH worked with furniture and textile manufacturers to identify products that meet the Healthy Interiors goal. This requires participating hospitals to ensure that 30 percent of the annual volume of furnishings and furniture purchases (based on cost) eliminate the use of formaldehyde, perfluorinated compounds, polyvinyl chloride (PVC), antimicrobials, and all flame retardants.

"Our sole focus at Allseating is to design affordable seating innovations that result in more productive – and healthier – situations,” says Michelle Crill, Allseating’s Healthcare Program Director. "Research has shown that patient-centered design and evidence-based design resulting from partnerships with experienced and knowledge designers improves patient outcomes.”

Currently, Allseating’s range of seating solutions fulfill needs across the entire continuum of care. This includes the Foster and Halsa lines for guests and patients, the You chair and other task chairs for caregivers, conference and executive seating, and multi-purpose products for common areas and for training purposes.
