Toronto, ON — October 27, 2020 — Allseating is pleased to announce the launch of Mantra, a sophisticated and adaptable seating solution, perfect for a variety of spaces, including private offices, boardrooms, and huddle rooms. Conceptualized by in-house industrial designer Nita Chakravarty, Mantra is characterized by a Lemniscate, a mathematical symbol that represents the concept of infinity. This unique detailing is an integral part of the chair as it connects the seat, back, and arms together in a manner that is aesthetically intricate, yet functionally simple.
“During the ideation process I began to see this loop over and over again in my sketches, which reminded me of the infinity symbol,” explains Nita. “This inspired me to focus my design around the concept of a single infinite arm that ties the entire chair together.”
While the emergence of social distancing and concepts such as the six-foot office have led to scaling back space, companies still want to foster an inspirational environment through the use of bold and innovative design. Mantra was created to meet such demands by encouraging motivation and focus with its visually appealing shape and comfortable seat.
The executive chair features a slim profile and the Lemni arm, which is available in three maple finishes - light, medium, and dark - or polished aluminum. Additionally, Mantra comes in two back heights, mid back and low back, allowing users to select the solution that best suits their personal needs. There is also an optional upholstered insert available to be specified on the mid back, as it comes standard on the low back.

Mantra is available in two different base styles: lounge and conference. The chair’s lounge base features a fixed-swivel mechanism for easy-to-navigate mobility, and the conference base can be specified with three different mechanisms: basic, standard, or knee tilt. Mantra moves intuitively with the user, and its simple height and tilt adjustments make for effortless customizability.

Nita Chakravarty earned her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Design respectively at the University of Toronto and the Ontario College of Art and Design. Prior to Allseating, she worked at Feature Walters, an architectural fabrication company.
