POSITION TITLE: QUALITY SPECIALIST

REPORTS TO: Quality Manager

WORK SCHEDULE: Regular, Full-Time, Days

Position Summary: Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Specialist will be responsible for maintaining all of ALLSEATING’s quality standards, and ensuring compliance with all requirements.

Position Responsibilities:

The Quality Specialist is responsible for the following:

  • Daily monitoring and evaluation of quality in all departments to ensure requirements are met and standards upheld;
  • Liaising with Operations, Purchasing and vendors to rectify quality issues;
  • Preparing and distributing non-conformance, corrective actions, and supplier performance reviews in response to supplier quality;
  • Monitoring and analyzing warranty claims from after-market clients and proposing correction, corrective, and preventive measures;
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of improvement plans relating to customer satisfaction while reducing the cost of quality at an internal and supplier level;
  • Providing technical support to both internally and externally by taking pictures, issuing quality alerts, creating instructions, and conducting investigations;
  • Completes quality deliverables for product development and change management by performing dimensional inspections and color matching on samples and preparing parts assessment reports;
  • Establishing and communicating the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (including preparation and implementation of quality procedures, instruction, and supporting documentation), ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems, and BIFMA E3 Environmental Standard (including the preparation and implementation of procedures, work instructions, etc.);
  • Conducting audits of the Quality & Environmental System to determine the system’s effectiveness and compliance with the standard, and reporting results to Executive Management;
  • Collecting and presenting data in preparation for monthly ‘Score Card Meetings’;
  • Trains the Quality or Receiving Inspector to ensure effective implementation of incoming inspection processes and ensure awareness of how parts quality translates to customer satisfaction;
  • Provides back-up support to incoming and sample inspection; and
  • Other duties as required.

Position Requirements:

  • Must have strong computer skills;
  • Must be fluent in Microsoft Office suite;
  • Must have strong professional business communication skills;
  • Must work effectively within a team environment;
  • Must be capable of delivering results;
  • Must have exemplary time management skills with an ability to prioritize work; and
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in related discipline;
  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001;
  • Preference will be given to candidates with previous manufacturing experience; and
  • English language proficiency (read/write/speak).

Work Environment:

  • Office setting; and
  • Prolonged sitting at a computer workstation.

Education:

  • DCS / DEC (preferred)

  • Quality Admin/Specialist: 3 years (preferred)
  • ISO 9001: 1 year (preferred)
  • ISO 14001: 1 year (preferred)
  • Manufacturing: 1 year (preferred)
