Allseating Expands its Healthcare Offerings with Halsa

March 31, 2016

Allseating’s growth into the healthcare market continues with the addition of Halsa, a line of seating and tables featuring a classic, streamlined design. The new offering—named after the Swedish word for “health”—will complement the company’s current Foster Collection—a family of patient, guest and lounge solutions introduced in 2013.

“Healthcare organizations today have to be more and more competitive and creative with the environments they design, which ideally should be as comfortable and as inviting as possible,” says Michelle Crill, Allseating’s Healthcare Program Director. “We’re excited to continue building on our innovative mid-market-priced seating portfolio, enabling us to meet the needs of the ever-changing healthcare landscape.”

Halsa includes chairs in five styles—guest, multiple, loveseat and bariatric in midback and a patient chair. All include the option of open or closed arms and multiples are available with or without full arm. Tables come in five different configurations: 2 stand-alone and 3 tandem options. And all of the products offer the same high level of durability, built-in lumbar support, and overall comfort and flexibility as the Foster Collection.

For varying budgets and applications, the styles come fully upholstered as standard, with optional removable covers. The table surfaces will initially be available in eight Thermofoil finish options, but will be expanded later in 2016 to also include Laminate, Hardwood and Solid Surface. Cupron—one of the Solid Surface options—has anti-microbial properties to help promote wellness. The other, Corian, is a non-porous material that prevents the growth of mold and mildew with proper cleaning.

Finally, for the added convenience of guests, and to address the mobile needs of modern facilities, an option to include USB and power outlets will be added later this year. These capabilities will be also useful for Halsa’s natural secondary market—education.

“Healthcare facilities and group purchasing organizations such as MedAssets and Premier, as well as partnering design firms, will have the opportunity to incorporate both Halsa and Foster in their overall vision to create a dynamic mix of seating for an unexpected look,” says Crill.
