Allseating’s growth in the healthcare market will continue into 2016 with the addition of a smaller-scale line of seating and tables featuring a classic, streamlined design. The new line—which is currently in prototype—will complement the company’s current Foster Collection, the family of patient, guest and lounge solutions introduced two years ago. At its outset, the new line will specifically serve waiting areas in healthcare; as with Foster, additional seating solutions will be developed for the line in the future.
“Healthcare facilities today have to be more and more competitive with the environments they create, but within the same budgets, ” says Allseating President Chris Binnendyk. “We’re emboldened to keep building on the variety of our offerings for them, and for the entire continuum of care.”
The new line includes chairs in three widths and tables in five different shapes. All of the products offer the same durability and clean outs as the Foster Collection, but the reduced manufacturing process will result in savings that are passed onto the healthcare industry. Also, customers can gain longer-term savings because the foundations of the chairs have been engineered to be easily retrofitted with new arms, seats or backs creating new configurations without complete replacement.
Allseating’s design team was also driven by the desire to reduce stress and increase wellness to those visiting healthcare facilities. Along with the lumbar support built into the foam, the back flexes allowing guests to gently rock. Additionally, one of the two new table surfaces—which will be added to Foster Collection as well—will be a solid Cupron providing an anti-microbial option.
“Our new line of healthcare solutions will be fully complementary with the current Foster Collection,” says Tom David, Allseating’s Manager of Development and Design. “Healthcare facilities can choose which one suits their needs best or, by combining the two lines, create a dynamic mix of seating for an unexpected look.”
